Unencrypted Wireless Anyone?

I took this log with Kismac on my iBook as I sat in the car to Epping from the City - I just ran the program to scan for wireless networks. Seems like very few people bother to encrypt their networks - most of the unencrypted ones i connected to were happy to serve me the net too.
Alot of previously unencrypted networks around my house in Chippendale seem to be getting clued on and applying some security to their networks - so alas it would seem that the halcion days of plentiful free internet are soon to be over. Not that WEP encrypting your access point isn't easily crackable with the right tools. (think filtering, injecting packets and brute force attack method)
I don't know what I'm on about now... think I need sleep.
I wonder what the legal stance is for jumping on random unecrypted networks and surfing the net???

Tennis

Played tennis yesterday night with Anthony, Tessa and Stevie D. Had heaps of fun so we played again today (sans Anthony) for about two hours. Man am I sore, I tried to stretch but I completely suck at it. The court we use is on the roof of the Ultimo community centre which has an awesome view of the city-scape. Thought i'd shoot it on ye olde phone camera... this is me serving to Mr.Dobson.
It's really weird how much sport I'm playing at the moment, I'm intending to take up Tai Chi with Ben - though we really haven't figured out where is a good place (cheap) to do it. Suggestions???
Just to make me look like a complete health nut; soccer is on tomorow at 3pm at Jubilee Park (glebe point). I think I need a really hot bath before that though.

U Dubs
Back to working at UWS again this semester.
Bad side is that I have one less hour (less $$$) - Good side is that I still have a job that only takes up part of my week.
Now all I need is another one-day-a-week job and i'll be on cheery lane.

Arlesheim

Okay, this is really rad.
The red arrow points to an apartment that I grew up in. Taken from this site.
A little like the whereis website but with photos.
Direcct link to image above.
Also a link to the town where I was born.
This is one of those moments where I feel completely humbled by, yet enamoured with technology.
I really love looking down on places I recognise from an airplane. This is just a hell of alot cheaper!
Is there an Australian version???

Needle in the Hay

There is a needle that has been sitting in our front door for about 4 months now... we've called both the city council and the needle exchange, both of whom promised to come and get it (neither of them did).
Anyways, thought i'd put up a picture just to cheer everyone up.
P.S. Still love Chippendale though.

Hot Coffee
Violence is okay for computer games - but sex is waaay out of question!
I think this comic illustrates the point fairly well.
'The Hot Coffee' issue seems to be getting a bit of press lately. The issue has now hit Australia with the ABC picking up on it... finally.
Penny-Arcade are also on the ball with this one.
I think i'll have to get myself a copy of San Andreas now - sex sells.

Perceptual Rebirth

Seems like there has been a bit of interest in my installation 'Perceptual Screening' from last year. Maybe I'll do a return by popular demand? Too bad I donated the steel frame to Artspace. (Image of installation in Artspace)
The work was primarily made for my honors degree - its an interactive sound-based installation which relies on video tracking of the audience to determine the soundscape.
